Our story
We, the people
Allow us to introduce ourselves
We are Kristy Lountzi and Stefanos Igoumenidis and up until 2012 we were still living and working on completely unrelated jobs, in our hometown, Athens, Greece.
It was our love for nature, the decline of the city center, our shared need to do something that matters, and of course Kristy’s origins from Zakynthos island and the possibility of working on the family’s centuries-old olive grove, that helped us make up our minds and move to the island to become conscious farmers, just before turning 30.
Our philosophy
Today, a few years later and after several long hours of reading, loads of patience and work, after instances of both disappointment and joy but above all, after the invaluable experience of our own mistakes, we continue our efforts while strongly maintaining our beliefs:
Mother nature is a complicated network of interactions and correlations, the totality of which mankind cannot yet fully grasp; and responsible farming -at least the way we see it- should consist of working with nature, not trying to subjugate her.
An ethical and responsible agricultural practice, is one that promotes the production and availability of pure and clean produce while respecting the environment, its biodiversity and the final consumers, that is, ourselves first and foremost.
Keeping this principle in mind during all of our farming endeavours, and despite the general tendency of our times for profit maximization at all cost, we feel honored to be able to offer such an exquisite and pure product as our terroir extra virgin olive oil, of limited production and the highest quality.
