Sarakina Estate’s organic olive grove is located at the southern part of the beautiful Ionian island of Zakynthos, in Greece. The Estate is filled with centuries-old olive trees primarily of the Koroneiki but also of the ‘Ntopia’ (local) and wild-olive varieties, which coexist in harmony with other elements of Zakynthos’ biodiversity. The size of our land is approximately 50 acres and its fascinating story begins with the onset of the 19th century.
Sarakina Estate’s organic extra virgin olive oil comes from olives of the Koroneiki and Ntopia (Local) varieties, harvested early in order to preserve their rich content in polyphenols and other beneficial ingredients. Our land’s distinct soil and climate, along with the non-invasive, certified organic cultivation methods we employ, render our olive oil “terroir”, a unique product, characteristic of its origin and the particular environmental conditions of its cultivation.
Driven by our deep environmental awareness and boundless love for quality food, we are devoted to producing premium organic olive oil, rich in polyphenols, coming exclusively from our family’s centuries-old olive grove.
